Gallery 34

Over the past several weeks, ,Gallery 34 has been asked questions such as: who, what, and why are you? What is your mission  statement,  intent,  primary purpose? etc. etc.  After careful consideration, we @ Gallery 34 decided to go back to the basics to explain our objective; the ABCs.  So over the next few days, we'll alphabetically list the Gallery 34 Code of  Conduct:
ABC's
A. Always Artistic.

B. Boundless- yet not too Big for our Berkshire Britches!

C. Creative, Constantly Changing-Classy & Cool!---never Cutting.

D. is always for Dollars or Donations both are always welcome!
So it's  not all about $$$$, we'll throw in Diligent.

E. Entertaining---sometimes on the Edge.

F. Fun- Frivolous-& Festive  and  Free (to struggling artists only).

G. there are three Gs in this Gallery already--that's enough!

H. Hometown, Historical & Hysterical  Hopefully , and Hats ---Buy
      One!

I. Informative, Instructive & Interesting.

J. Jaunty, Jazzy & Jacose (in other words, those without a sense
of humor need not apply). Journalistic -in a 'fast food society'
      kind of way.

K. Keen , Kinetic-as in 'on the move', and Kudos for ART & friends.

L. Laborious-it's ALL about Work.  Language-may Gallery 34's
never offend only inform. Local-we are indeed   "Townies".
     Loony (a bit) & Luminous.

M. Magnetic-may our magnetisim 'attract' more & more viewers
(and supporters buying Gallery 34 hats & T-shirts)! Mainstream
-with an occasional sidestep. Modified (daily) not Monotonous!
And ever Mindful to Our Community.

N. Nocturnal, but only in the daytime!   Notable- meaning tell a
friend   about Gallery 34.  "Hey, it ain't easy building a 'web'
pyramid one 'e' @ a time. Try it sometime." Nutritious-food
      for thought.

O. Objectionable-but only to those with small hearts & minds.
Obligated-to provide a GOOD Service  to the GOOD People of
North Adams.  Oblique & Obscure (Occasionally).

P. Palpable -to most.  Panchromatic -to ALL!   And PANORAMIC
(Webster's great  definition of Gallery34's point of view) 1.an
unlimited view over a wide area. 2. a picture or representation of
a continuous scene or series of events.    Now, isn't that
     PERFECT! Perhaps.

Q. Quench-as  in your 'thirst' for what's happening in the area.
Quick-to get interesting artsy fartsy information to you. And
Quicker getting those purchased Gallery34 Hats  T-Shirts out
the door to you. Never Quiescent or Quiet!

R. Racy-Radiant-Radical (@ times) -Regional & Reactionary.

S. Sagacious-look it up, we did-it fits!   Salient-leaping, bounding &
jumping into the 21st Century!   Satirical-some things ARE just
funny!    Saturated-with PHOTOS.  And just a tad Saucy &
Sassy.  Oh, and most definetly SUPPORTIVE.  As a matter
of fact, our motto is, "We Support those who Support Us."
      Simple-So   Buy a Hat!

T.Townies-as stated before; and darn proud of it!Tasteful -
however, now & again, we may offer up a morsel or Two that
some may find hard to digest. Sorry about That! TenaciousTimes
Ten!  and Thankful for all our friends & supporters (we could do
with a few more Gallery34 T-Shirt & Hat sales). Without Those
supporters, you wouldn't be reading These Trivial ABCs. Thanks

U. Ubiquitous-now that's hard, even Houdini had trouble
accomplishing   this feat.    The Ultimate for a local Web site!
Unbelieveable-that this site has almost 10,000 'hits' in just 6
short  weeks.  And Unbridled-free from boring boards-confused
committees and placating panels. Hit Undo!

V. Valuable-as a source of local information.  Variable & Versatile
-our galleries & shows can change in a matter of minutes (and
some say, "Please do & Thank God!").  Viable & Vibrant (we
can dream can't we?).  And a last minute insert that an assistant
found in an old Gutenberg Dictionary (now there was a guy!
-Johann-c.1400-68, Ger. printer: reputedly the 1st European to
print with movable type. What a distance we've traveled
Johnny) anyway the word is Virtu'- a derivative of an
interesting Italian word meaning love of or taste for, curios or
objets d'art. Productions of art, especially curios or antiques.
       That fits.

W.Warehouse-full of hats & T-Shirts- "Please, buy one!
"Weary-from not selling any hats or T-Shirts!  Whirlwind-as in
progressive motion @ all levels.  Widespread, but not 'spread
too thin'. Witnesses to local happenings & events.  And  We
Welcome all input---We may not like it, but We'll Weigh it!

X. Xenia - you may think that the staff had to look this one up, but
no, no, no-this is the Greek hospitality code that we've tried to
live by for years. "Treat ALL who pass through your castle
gates   as if they were Kings & Queens, and you yourself will be
one!"    And X-Ray-Yes folks, we @ Gallery 34 do occasionally
have the power to 'see through' certain people or things!

Y. Yardarm-where you'll all hang from if you don't buy a hat soon.
Yonder- if you are there, and we are here @Gallery 34, then all
others are Yonder!   Yours-consider this site Yours-send in a
comment, a photo, a caption, a poem, or a donation (this site is
fun, but could use some FUNding-if you like what you see, send
us a buck--we know you've been printing out our photos!).

Z. Zealous-you must know that by now! Zestful-we love being
exhibitionist--don't you? Go ahead try it--Take that raincoat
off!  Zioty-a gold monetary unit of Poland-we'll take it!  And
finally, the last word in the dictionary (we knew we could make
it work for us) Zymurgy-applied chemistry dealing with the
fermentation process-as in brewing--- we have the
chemistry-definetly the fermentation and we've been 'brewing'
for quite some time!  We'll open the Champagne @ 34,000hits.
      ZZZank You!

CONTEST
After this excercise, the staff @ Gallery34 came to the conclusion that it's rather difficult to define ANYTHING in one word. So,
that's the challenge before you now. Over the next several weeks, we ask you the viewer to submit a ONE WORD description of
Gallery34 (once again-no profanity please).  Once we have the Top Ten List, the viewers will become voters selecting the best of the
best.  The winner will receive not only a Gallery 34 hat, but a beautiful framed photograph from the 'Blast from the Past' series that will soon be on display @ Steeples in the Holiday Inn.  For Questions & Submissions  click here.
